HFI Welcomes Dr. Ryan Steward to HFI Family
HFI is excited to announce that our family of the best IVF doctors in Houston is growing! Everyone at Houston Fertility Institute wants to offer a warm welcome to the newest physician in the HFI family, Dr. Ryan Steward!
Dr. Steward was born and raised in Austin and is a proud native Texan. He recently completed his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Duke University and completed his residency training right here in Houston at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Dr. Steward also received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
With a special interest in advanced reproductive technologies, Dr. Steward will be an invaluable member of the HFI team. Starting August 1st, Dr. Steward will be seeing patients at our Medical Center – Woman’s Hospital and Woodlands locations. We’re anxiously awaiting Dr. Steward’s arrival (we know you’ll love him as much as we do), so we interviewed him briefly so everyone can get to know him a little better.
HFI: What inspired you to become a physician?
Dr. Steward: I’ve wanted to be a doctor for as long as I can remember. When I was 13, my younger sister died suddenly due to an unexplained heart defect. From that point on, I knew I wanted to help people.
HFI: What are you most passionate about professionally?
Dr. Steward: I’m passionate about helping couples struggling with infertility to have a baby, while it can be challenging at times, it can be the most rewarding job in medicine.
The work is incredibly rewarding, drives me every day, and why I chose to come to HFI.
HFI: What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
Dr. Steward: Outside of work I try to be the best husband and father I can be. My first priority is always spending time with my family. I’m an avid sports fan who loves playing golf, hunting, cooking, and travelling. At heart, I’m also an animal lover and I’m a big supporter of the ASPCA.
HFI: What most excites you about your work & the contribution you can make?
Dr. Steward: I look forward to contributing to HFI’s already stellar reputation. Having trained at premier institutions, I hope to bring fresh insight and technical skill to the table. As a lifelong Texan, I believe that my familiarity with Houston and the Texas Medical Center will make my transition with HFI seamless so I can get to work helping patients from day 1.
HFI: If you could tell potential patients one thing about you, what would it be?
Dr. Steward: If I could tell patients one thing, it would be to take a deep breath and understand that I’m here to listen to them and do everything in my power to help them.
